No tricks up our sleeve

8th Feb 2019 | By Leicester Services Partnership

We are launching our No tricks up our sleeve scheme at the start of the university’s Go Green Week, 11th-15th February 2019. A scheme designed to help reduce the use of disposable coffee cups around campus.

We want to create the biggest sustainable impact we can for this campaign, and hopefully boost positive behavioural change in regards to reuse, reduce, recycle.

It will begin with the launch of a new branded coffee silicone sleeve. Priced at just £5, and available at any catering outlet on campus, the cost includes a free drink! More information here.

The scheme works by using the sleeve every time you purchase a hot drink. Simply show your sleeve to a staff member and your drink will be served in one of the striking new red and black branded cups. You’ll receive a 25p discount – 15p off the cost of the disposable cup and 10p as a thank you gesture.

Just make sure to return the cup when you’re done!

In addition, there will be blind coffee tasting sessions throughout the week. These will take place at the Craft silver coffee van located on Centenary Square. You’ll have the chance to try a variety of blends and be able to offer feedback on your favourite coffees – the winning blend will be rolled out across all outlets for customers to enjoy daily.

Coffee tasting runs 11am-2pm every day of Go Green Week.

The initiative also falls within our Sustainability policy, which can be viewed here.
